[net.micro.atari16] 6301 keyboard chip

ACS19@UHUPVM1.BITNET (07/30/86)

I have just completed a mod to my keyboard chip to (supposedly) have it keep
the time after I power down. I had to include two NAND gates to keep the
reset hi. The setup works OK on a friends who has a REV 2.0 6301 chip, but
alas, I had to buy my 520ST when it first came out, and I have a rev 1.0 chip.
The problem is that the time in the chip never increments, it is always
frozen at the same time. What is the difference between the two chips, and is
there anything I can do to get the clock in the chip to work? (It doesn't
work right now!!!!!!!)
Neil, do the old keyboard chips not have a real working clock in them?
I noticed that the new keyboards have a different electronic component layout.
can anyone shed some light, before I have to go out and buy a new keyboard?

I felt good that I bought an ST when it first came out, but now I am wondering
if I shouldn't have waited for the rev B models.
