I've a question for the Atari folks about the MS-DOS emulator. Will this device be interruptable from the ST? It would be very useful for the ST to work with it like a debugger board. For example, I write a program for the MS-DOS environment and wnat to debug it, but my code bombs under MS-DOS and I can't find why. Enter the ST. With a simple double click on the right mouse button, the ST stops the 8088 and saves its state. An MS-DOS debugger takes over on the ST side and displays the line of errant code with the SEGMENT:ADDRESS. This would let the ST run as a Periscope (c)? type product. I've used a few co-processors before, and the most annoying problem with them is the lack of programming control that the host has over the parasite board. I think this debugger suggestion is useful because many of the ST users who would buy the emulator want it for software development. I know I would sure appreciate a feature like this for the times when I need to write an MS-DOS utility but don't want to go into the office and scrounch up a machine. Who in her right mind would want to run PC software when she had an ST? BTW: I ordered my 1040 ST from a local dealer one month ago. The hard drive came in in a week. But the dealer *swears* ATARI will not return his calls or give him a definite delivery date. To coin a phrase, "I want my ST!"
