uuencode/decode is not a hard thing to write, though. I am working on a version for the Atari 800xl and it looks as though it won't be difficult. If anybody wants the definition of uuencode/decode coding, I just happen to have a "functional spec" and also very compatible "c" source code from a kind soul on the net. -John Sangster jhs@mitre-bedford.arpa

This sounds really intriguing. Please let me know how the XL uuencode project works out. Generally I wouldn't expect to need to transfer binaries for my Atari too often, but I've recently been using ftp to get David Young's latest products. Getting them down to my Atari from this Unix machine can sometimes be a challenge.... -- Howard
