[net.micro.atari16] uE3.7 - was ANYONE able to run what i posted ?

turner@imagen.UUCP (D'arc Angel) (09/05/86)

help! imagine my frustration, all that work and no one can run it, i
don't want to start the sources vs. binaries debate again (i am on
the sources side) but i think i stated my reasons for not posting
the sources and being an obstinate &^%&$ i will stand by them.
meanwhile back at the ranch, does anyone have a better way to
distribute binaries then uuencode ??????

someone recently posted comments about some mailer deleting trailing
spaces and therefore screwing up uudecode postings, i am going to
use their method (adding a char to the end of each line) and mail
them to some of the people who couldn't use the last posting. if
that works we'll go from there, sorry

No Problem... I uudecoded it on our vax (BSD4.2) then
used kermit to send it to an ST.
I've never had a problem with uuencoded binaries using this method
You need a kermit in the ST which supports binary (image) transfer
mode. The version in the developers kit does that ok.
What methods are others using?

On U-emacs 3.7 though... I found it worked fine on a colour monitor
but not on te monochrome one I use at home.
