Although SEDT is still in beta test, I find it to be unusually free of bugs. I feel it has EDT beat, and I've also now switched from using EDT to SEDT on my VAX at work. I consider it a real plus to be able to use the same editor on the VAX and on my ST at home. Also, its especially comforting to have such a high level of support from Anker - his response time to enhancements/fixes is fast! He recently spoke on SEDT at our local Atari club meeting. Regarding the current status of SEDT, I'm including a message from him, below, that was extracted from our in-house NOTES file: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been plugging away at it. Have what I think is a very solid TOS version. The only annoyance is the time that it takes for me to checkpoint the journal file, which has to be done by closing and reopening it again. I was given strong input that a GEM version was highly desirable and have taken that advice. Finished a first cut this weekend and feel very good about it. I need to enhance some of the menus, but it looks good. I'll get this out to the betatesters in about a week. Finally I have to get some feedback from the betatesters on where the product needs improvement. Having done that I should be ready to go to market.
