[net.micro.atari16] Followup on Thunder and VT-52

<<<<<>>>>>

This is a followup to the article that I posted about the
use of THUNDER! (copywrite Batteries Included) and the VT-52
desk accessory. I was told that it might work (and in one case
was told that it was used 'all the time') so I went ahead and
purchased it for around $35.00.

To make a long story short, it does not work at all with
the VT-52 desk accessory. It MUST have the normal desk top-like
menu bar at the top of the screen to work properly. Even so,
when I tried it with a tektronix 4010 multiple screen terminal
emulator the I wrote that uses the menu bar and the like, it
didn't work either. So it seems that just having the menu bar
is not enough. I tried talking to the people at B.I. and asked
them if they know of a terminal emulator that would work with
THUNDER! and they didn't know of any.

I*S Talk (I have heard) emulates a vt-100. Is there someone
who has this program that could verify this. Please! don't
respond if you just think it might - I already have one $35
program that I have no use for. The people at B.I. (I*S too)
didn't seem too knowledgable about the terminal emulation
features of I*S Talk, this is why I am asking.

Please respond all you I*S Talk users, I really need an on-line
spelling checker as soon as possible. As always, thanks in advance,
but PLEASE make sure that you know for certain the information
you pass along - I don't need to keep B.I. in business buying
programs I don't use.

Pc-intercom has a very very good vt100 emulator that use to talk to
vaxes all the time. (unix and vms) Works with EDT in vms (redefines the
keypad).
