A friend of mine has asked me to track down a driver for his Epson LQ1000 printer. His problem comes in making screen dumps with his 1040ST, as his printer has 24 rather than 8 pins in the print-head. If anyone could send me such a driver or provide a pointer to one, I and my friend would be most grateful. (This is the sort of problem that I would normally handle myself, but not even OWNING a printer, I don't know where to start.) Thanx in Advance -- M. Brinsmead @ University of Calgary

I thought the LQ printers were compatible with older 9-pin printers! Of course the 24 or 28 pin printers are capable of much higher resolution, but the screen pixels are the resolution limit in a screen dump. (I havn't tried one on an ST but I have tried MX80 graphics-printing software on an Apple II with an LQ1500 and it worked fine.) My vision of the near future, though, is nice fonts printed from ST software on both 24-pin and laser printers. Any GDOS wizards out there working on it?
