Ok, I have a question for the net. I've just got in my copy of OS/9 for the Atari. It seems to be a fairly complete operating system and everything works. I will post a short review in the next week or so. But, OS/9 is not a small system. The directory runs to four pages and this is sans languages. In short, it's time to buy a hard disk. This particular port of OS/9 supports disk made by two companies, Atari & Supra. So sports fans, which do you think is the better disk? Please mail or post replies. Of course, in a week or two, I will summarize to the net. Richard Piner piner@galileo.UUCP (was piner@pur-phy.UUCP) BTW, the hard disk implimentation is a little strange. It seems that a small portion of the disk must be left for GEM. The partition can be very small, but it has to be there in order to boot the system. I thought the industry learned not to use ROM when Radio Shack stopped making the Model III. Oh, well.

Is it possible to write C applications under OS/9 and have them run under GEM? This would be ideal. I suspect that the necessary library/glue routines don't exist yet. Is this the case? It's important that the ultimate output of the OS/9 compiler run under GEM without any proprietary run-time support code. Eagerly awaiting any reply, -Eric
