[net.micro.atari16] Monochrome Draw/Paint

ram@YALE.ARPA (Ashwin Ram) (10/04/86)

Is there a draw/paint program available for the ST that works with a
monochrome monitor? Any pointers and reviews will be highly appreciated.

(Minor flame on)

It is annoying that "standard" software included in the package that you buy
(in this case, NeoChrome) does not even work. Why include it at all instead
of a reasonable substitute that DOES work? It's like buying an expensive
tape deck with auto-reverse, and then finding out that it doesn't work with
the particular tape head they used in the deck.

(Minor flame off)

While I'm on the subject, does anyone know why the monitors were designed to
be incompatible? Especially since the monochrome is higher resolution than
the color, it would seem natural (and pretty trivial) to design them such
that you would get a grey approximation to the color display if you had a
monochrome plugged in. I'm sure compatibility wouldn't hurt the sales any.

One further query: Does anyone know of a "calculator" desk accessory?

Thanx... -- Ashwin.
