[net.micro.atari16] Another Magic Sac installment

fouts@AMES-NAS.ARPA (10/07/86)

Friday afternoon I received V2.0 of the Magic Sac software which had
been posted by Federal Express next day service on Thursday. I took it home
and tried it out briefly over the weekend.

There is now a copyaa program which allows people with only one disk
drive to make backup copies of their Magic disks.

The single disk drive copy bug has been fixed.

     FreeTerm now works.

Also, the problem I was having with the transmit program appears to be
fixed, although I didn't have a Mac to check it out with.

Version 2 comes with a readme which gives a brief list of programs that
run under Magic Sac and a more detailed explanation of the problems that
might come up when running a program under Magic Sac.

It ain't perfect yet, but I am sure impressed with the service. Four
bugs fixed in two weeks, and Federal Express shipping.

Magic Sac is now in a state where I would certainly recommend it as an
add on for ST users. You won't be getting a full MacIntosh, but it runs
enough Mac software (faster than a Mac) to be worth the price.

Do you know if it runs MacDraw, MacWrite and MacPaint?

Could you post the list of software that works and does not. Thanks

Several people have asked if I will post the list of software
which works with Magic Sac.

I am going to try all of the software I have on my Mac at work
starting this weekend, and will post both the Data Pacific list, and my
experiences.

The first installment will probably be Monday or Tuesday of next
week.

Marty:

Could you post the list of software that the Magic Sac
works with? Also, was this called the MacCartridge at one time?
and is it the one done by David Small?

Always a question...
