Gold Star also made the old Tu-tone Monitors. The problem
with the new monitors is probably not that the suppliers are
using crummy parts, but that they are not correctly aligned.
It takes 1 Human 15 minutes per monitor to do the job right
at the factory. If you have a crummy monitor get it aligned
under warrenty. If the dealer refuses and says that there is
nothing wrong with it, then demmaned that he/she trade you
there old "Good" show room monitor for your crummy monitor.
If the service centers get flooded with requests for alignment
then Atari will yell at their suppliers to get the quality up.

p.s. If the new monitors are crummy then Atari could be in trouble
for false advertising if its dealers use "old" monitors on the
display floor.
