Hi. This will be a many faceted posting so get ready to skip parts:

1) Does anybody have either C code or uuencoded binary of the
uuencode/uudecode programs that were posted on the net a little
while ago? If so, write me mail please. It'd be nice to have them on
my Atari and I don't have a Pascal compiler.

2) I'm thinking of buying a (much needed) hard disk and I am
soliciting any reviews/comments in email about them. Are the Atari
and Supra the only two out there? Do either of them have an
automatic (on power-down) head park?

3) Anything on DRI multitasking GEM?

4) I just acquired Silent Service by MicroProse. Let me say that
this is an interesting game that is halfway between an arcade game
and a strategy game. Realistsic movement and control, and
intelligently planned graphics make it a fun diversion. Submarines
have never been so fun. A neat feature is the time scale setter. If
you think the games is going too slow, set the time scale to be 2,
4, or 8 times normal. The only major problem is . . .

FLAME ON ->
I really hate it when companies protect their software, and then
charge money for backup disks. I have already paid for the program,
and if I am being legal, and not copy-breaking it, I don't want to
pay $10 more for a backup disk for when (in this case) the original
disk starts making funny noises when the drive is running.
FLAME OFF ->

I realize the utility of copy protection (being a writer myself),
but occasions like this are frustrating. Maybe there is some better
way . . .

5) The clock setting program I got from the net didn't work (bombed
out). Is there anybody nearby that can send me one?

6) Kudos to the authors of Uniterm and Arc. They are great and
useful programs. Long live the Public Domain and the authors that
support it!!

That's it folks. Poke the guy next to you if he's fallen asleep . .
:-).
