[net.micro.atari16] updates

I bought my atari about 3 months ago. At the time I also bought DB one
version 5xxxxx. Last month at the atari expo I bought thunderversion 1.01,
which by the way these things work together. The application I'm using it
for is to keep track of my Grateful Dead tapes recorded on my Beta hifi.
The box is too small to hold all the song names. Thunder works well as a
desk accessory with it because you can abbreviate the song names and have
the program expand them.

Anyway, both these pieces of software were outdated. I called up batteries
included. They said no problem. Your version is early enough to require a
free update just send your disk in. I tried to call up Stoneware for DB
one. They could not be found, even by address. I then called up Atari and
found they had the rights to distributuion of the product, but didn't have
the rights to update the copy. They said Stoneware offered the update for
25 dollars a while back. They could not even tell me if Stoneware was still
in existance. One, can you imagine spending 25 dollars for an update of
something I could buy for 34 dollars? Two Atari didn't seem to know what
the hell was going on with something they were in control of. I don't know
I just don't know.
