I got this off a local BBS, is it true? -------------------------------------------------- BOSTON has just inked a new contract with MCA Records after a 6 year hiatus. (The band hasn't released an album since "Don't Look Back" in 1978.) They've been involved in a heavy legal battle with their old record label for the last couple of years, but that should be resolved very soon and the new Boston album should be out at the first of the year. (The tracks are basically completed... in fact, WAAF, a radio station just outside of Beantown [Boston] has been playing a cut from the forthcoming lp for the past few months, but MCA sent them a Cease and Desist order. ROB LIPSHUTZ, WAAF Music Director, says the recording was their Number 1 request item from the first day it aired. Should be a mutha!) Original vocalist BRAD DELP and guitarist/producer/genius TOM SCHOLZ are in the current lineup.

----- I can't say that Boston can be classified in the Twisted Sister category. From what past history I've heard of Boston (someone correct me if they know better), the original tapes for the 1st Boston album were recorded around 1969 and just mouldered around Tom Scholtz's basement for some years until they finally made their debut album. Imagine if that stuff had been put on vinyy in 1969-- that's pretty earth-shatterring stuff for that time... Anyway, even if that semi-legendary tidbit isn't true, the fact still remains that Tom Scholtz is generally accepted to be a technical genius. Ask anyone who has played an electric guitar through his "RockMan" gadget... -----
