[net.lang.c++] C++ availability

cohen@stsci.uucp (William Cohen) (06/05/86)

A simple question: where can I get a C++ compiler?
How much does it cost? If several are available, what ones
are best?

I'm on a SUN-2.

                              		Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Has anybody attempted to port C++ to VMS using the VAX 11 C compiler?

I am also very interested in this question. At least one problem with
the VMS C compiler is that the variable names it allows are somewhat
limited in length (32 or 40 characters, I think). Would it be possible
to write a C++ post processor that creates suitable names or is that
an enormous can of worms?

My apologies for the last message from "News Sources at University of Hawaii".
I forgot I was on as user ``news" and I had no signature file there....

Could someone please tell me how to obtain C++ for a Vax 11/780 running
4.[23] BSD UNIX? It might be appropriate to have this posted to the net as I've
noticed several people asking the question here....
