[net.lang.c++] unusual error message

ables@mcc-pp.UUCP (King Ables) (08/04/86)

I've got C++ Release 1.0 (sort of) installed on a Vax 11/750
running 4.2BSD. Some people are using it while waiting for
the wonderful new 1.1 release, so we don't expect everything to
go right.

However, someone here has come up with a problem that also seems
to happen on another machine I've seen that has 1.1 running. It
seems to not have much to do with the section of code it reports
on since commenting out sections of code and breaking it up and
moving it around seems to make the error move around in no
particular pattern. The one remotely strange thing going on is
there are about 6 include files in the program.

Has anyone ever seen:

"filename", line nnn: internal <<cfront 10/10/85>> error: no base type( base=0)

before? If so, does anyone know what it means? It behaves like a table
overflow or something.

While I am not actually the one with the problem, I am acting as the
focal point between my guys and the net. If more information is
needed by someone, I can probably supply it.

Thanks for any help!
