OS-9 Digest Number 3, 19-January-1986 Contents: 1. Error in OS-9/68000 manual: echo Bob Larson 2. Request for tutorial postings. Bruce Perens --------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Bob Larson <oberon!blarson> Subject: error in os9/68000 manual: echo Keywords: 68k, shell There is one significant error in the os9/68000 users manual that I have found: The numbers used with the \ escape are DECIMAL not hex. The examples are also wrong. \49 will give you a 1, use \65 to get A. This was a little confusing when trying to send escape sequences to my printer to change modes. Bob Larson innp4!sdcrdcf!oberon!blarson --------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Bruce Perens <nyit!bp> Subject: request for tutorial postings I need some material for OS-9 beginners: 1. A glossary of OS-9 terms. 2. A `what is OS-9' article, or series of articles. 3. An OS-9 tutorial. If you are interested in writing anything like this, or if you have one written and in machine-readable form, Please send mail to nyit!os9. Pointers to good machine-readable OS-9 material on other networks would be appreciated, as well. I am looking into material on Compuserve right now. Many Thanks Bruce Perens nyit!bp -- --- 516-686-7644 (Bruce Perens or Alex Arthur) {allegra,seismo,decvax,vax135,ihnp4,mcvax}!philabs!nyit!os9 nyit!os9%suny-sb.CSnet@CSnet-Relay.ARPA OS-9 and BASIC09 are trademarks of Microware Systems Corporation and Motorola. mod.os.os9 is a personal (not an NYIT) project.
