I have been working with BNF descriptions of several languages, and with their LALR(1) forms (i.e. Yacc). I have a process which does an unsophisticated transformation of the former into the latter. Do you know where I can find a parser which works on BNF directly? I don't have the expertise or time to develop one myself, and I am sure someone, somewhere must have developed a BNF equivalent to yacc. Any pointers sure would be appreciated. Michael J. Or do you want a translater that turns a general context free grammar into something that is LALR? -John] -- Send compilers mail to ima!compilers or, in a pinch to Levine@YALE.EDU Plausible paths are { ihnp4 | decvax | cbosgd | harvard | yale | bbncca}!ima Send meta-mail to ima!compilers-request
