``mother's favourite recipes''. It's terrific.

.IG "\(12 tsp" "cream of tartar" "2.5 ml"
.IG "1 tsp" "baking soda" "5 ml"

.IG "1\(12 cups" "plain white flour" "160 g"
.IG "\(12 tsp" "vanilla essence" "2.5 ml"

Mix all ingredients together well. Preheat oven to

Roll dough into small balls.

Bake for 15 minutes, or until brown.

Golden syrup is not available in North America; it is a caramelized sugar
syrup. North Americans can substitute dark corn syrup or a mixture of
molasses and water.
