[mod.recipes] you can't please all of the people all of the time

reid@decwrl.DEC.COM (Brian Reid) (12/03/86)

I've gotten several dozen messages from people who are thrilled at the
posting of cleartext recipes. Today I got one that complained about them. The
message is so absolutely bizarre that I've removed the identity of the sender
from it, in case he or she (I can't tell) would be embarrassed...

Subject: mod.recipes Cleartext postings to mod.sources

I would like to express my opposition to the Cleartext versions of every
recipe that has been posted lately. it doesn't seem fair to penalize those of
us who want to see the actual recipes to wade through an equal number of clear-
text duplicates. the cleartext versions could be posted to net.cooks or some
new newsgroup. it seems to violate the spirit of the mod.recipes purpose,
and certainly makes the software distributed for processing recipes wasted.
I wholeheartedly support the mod.recipes format and an worried that if half
of the articles now are cleartext, soon they may all be and mod.recipes will
just be another hodgepodge like net.cooks. what do you think?
