INFO-MUSIC-REQUEST <rbn@BRL-VGR.ARPA> (11/02/84)
Well I finally got through the INFO-MUSIC and INFO-MICRO request lists. Contrary to popular opinion, there were only two days of stagnation there (the earliest stuff was 1500 on Tuesday). The problem was that every damn UNIX site that uses sendmail to feed a local bulletin board decided to return every single message to me with a bogus "554 Not a typewriter" message. Even with an automated mail reader it took some time to filter through (it WOULD be easier if everyone conformed to RFC822 in their mail headers...are you listening COMPION and DEC?). Anyhow, if you get this, you are still on the list. If you want off, send a letter to INFO-MUSIC-REQUEST@BRL. Sending to the list in general does no good whatsoever and just bothers everyone else (who couldn't care less if you want off the list). In fact, the list is maintained on a different machine than where I receive INFO-MUSIC, so I just trash any of those messages. INFO-MUSIC is now fairly well gatewayed to net.music on USENET. If you get net news, you may want to deep six INFO-MUSIC. Otherwise, good luck. -Ron INFO-MUSIC-REQUEST
