A hearty dish, good as either a side dish or a vegetarian main course.
Suitable for Passover.

.IG "4 oz" "cooking oil" "100 ml"

finely chopped
.IG "1 clove" "garlic,"
crushed
.IG "\(14 tsp" "caraway seeds" "1.5 ml"
.IG "1 tsp" "paprika" "5 ml"
.IG "1\-2 cups" "water" "2\-4 dl"
.IG "4 lbs" "potatoes," "2 kg"
peeled and sliced thin.

seeded and cut into strips

peeled, seeded, and chopped

(You can vary the amount of salt according to preference.)

In a heavy-bottomed casserole, heat the oil and fry the onions and garlic.

Add the caraway seeds, paprika, and water.

Add the potatoes, peppers, and tomatoes.

Simmer for thirty minutes.
