The original version of this recipe came from \fIthe Jewish Holiday
Cookbook\fR, by Gloria Kaufer Greene. It benefits from being made ahead and
then heated for the Seder.

.IG "4" "large sweet potatoes,"
peeled and diced
.IG "1" "butternut squash,"
peeled and diced
.IG "4" "tart apples,"
peeled, cored, and diced
.IG "\(12 lb" "prunes," "250 g"
pitted and halved
.IG "1/3 cup" "water" "100 ml"
.IG "1/3 cup" "sweet red Passover wine" "100 ml"
.IG "1/3 cup" "sugar" "60 g"
.IG "1 tsp" "ground cinnamon" "5 ml"
.IG "\(12 tsp" "ground nutmeg" "2 ml"
.IG "\(12 tsp" "ground ginger" "2 ml"

Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well to distribute the
liquid evenly.

Dump into a baking dish and seal the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil
and a lid.

Bake 1 hour at

Cool.

To serve, reheat, then empty into a serving dish. Don't serve it out of the
pan you cooked it in (the movement into the serving dish squeezes juices out
of the fruit).
