It is with regret that I advise that the
program at John Marshall Law School in Chicago
relating to BBS's has been cancelled!
Unfortunately, we did not have enough
pre-registrations to incur the expenses
involved, particularly given the elite
group of speakers and guests that had been
lined up for this program who would have
been flown into Chicago and provided the
necessary accommodations.
Part of the problem may have been that we
did NOT do any promotion or advertising except
for BBS's and electronic networks.
Folks, there's potential problems out there!
The National Law Journal feature article this
week is headed: "A Growing Communications
Dilemma...Technology v. Privacy: Will Wires
Get Crossed." I would suggest we keep up the
dialog on the networks. Clearly, a Conference
like that which was planned is necessary. What
it probably lacked was a financially well-healed
sponsor.
     With regrets----------Paul Bernstein
