[ont.sf-lovers] Are my reviews worthwhile?

perelgut@utai.UUCP (Stephen Perelgut) (12/06/85)

I have just posted YAR (Yet Another Review). I am willing to keep
doing this on an infrequent basis if anyone is interested. How about
some words of encouragement, and some comments about what you'd like
to see.
	- only hardcover reviews
	- only review new books
	- change in format or content
	- etc.

P.S. I am planning on reading "Mammoth Hunters", "Eros Descending", "Bio
of a Space Tyrant - IV", "Flux and Anchore IV", and Brust's new book
Real Soon Now :-) (Possibly over the Xmas break).

In short -- I enjoy the reviews and look forward especially to the one
for Mammoth Hunters.

I think that the best things about (net).sf-lovers are the reviews
and subsequent discussion; both for new books - so that i can look out
(or avoid!) them - and for golden oldies. I for one would like to see
much more reviews and discussions of _books_ in this new newsgroup.
Also i would welcome discussion on interesting themes within science
fiction (the net has discussed immortality, time travel, faster than
light travel, the biology of aging etc. etc. and i found them all
worthwhile). Hopefully we can, through consensus now, avoid the fate
of net.sf-lovers. As a step in the right direction a review of Brin's
_The Postman_ follows. On a slightly different tack - this is the
end of term for those of us at school and so i would expect that
the net traffic would drop quite considerably around this time. Lack
of immediate response to articles does not necessarily signify apathy,
please give us more reviews!

Yes, Your reviews ARE worthwhile. Keep 'em coming. This
would also keep the flow of ont.sf-lovers, and probably
create some discussions. (fire-fights, dog-fights..:-)
