There's a new show on TVO called "Prisoners of Gravity". The title refers to us poor slobs sutck on the surface of Earth. The host of the show is Commander Rick, a former Frantic, who is stuck in a com- munications satellite 23,000 miles up. There have been two shows so far. The show is about comics and science fiction "because they deal with the issues". You know.. drugs, wife-beating, runaways.. the issues. Mark Askwith [the Silver Snail guy, and one of the writers of the "Prisoner" comic] is involved and has a writing credit. He says that they didn't get a chance to see what TVO did with the first two shows until it was too late, so the third and later shows will be even better. Personally, I was pretty impressed with the first two -- enough to post this, at any rate. The directing is .. unusual. Very non-traditional. And it seems to work quite well. --- "Prisoners of Gravity" can be seen Monday nights at 7:30pm on TVO. It is re-broadcast on Sunday nights, again at 7:30pm, on La Chainne Francaise.
