[ut.supercomputer] supercomputer mail

Lou Salkind <salkind%nyu.arpa@CSNET-RELAY> (12/21/85)

Perhaps you have been wondering why you haven't seen anything on
the supercomputer mailing list.

Well, we have been having trouble with our mailer here, with the result
being that any posting causes a mail loop to develop.

The good news is that I have been saving all the postings,
and as soon as we have resolved the problem, I will send out the
backlog mail.

Well, your message reached sunny Ithaca just fine.

It is important to establish these lines of
communication. In the not-so-far-off future,
electronic networks may become the formal
means of communication among scientists, as
well as an informal means...People will just
log in to their friendly Sun workstation and
read the latest journals in TeX format, with
3d full-color animated graphics to illustrate
their results. I'm serious.

Merry Christmas!

Cheryl
