I don't want this sound like an advertisement, but I thought it might be of interest to this group. Alliant and Convex are both makers of Unix-based super-minicomputers, the so-called "crayettes". DEC of course makes the Vax line. These companies are only some that have signed up to support the Sun Network File System, which allows workstations and other computing resources to share files using standard DARPA Internet protocols. Some of these companies will be demonstrating the NFS at the Uniforum conference next month. Sun will also be demonstrating a system for remotely executing programs from your workstation on any of these "compute servers". Reply by mail for further details. -- Bill Nowicki Sun System Software
