VECTOR AND PARALLEL PROCESSORS IN COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE Liverpool 25th - 28th August 1987 REGISTRATION AND ACCOMMODATION This conference (VAPP III) follows two highly successful conferences in Chester (VAPP I, 1981) and Oxford (VAPP II, 1984) on Vector and Parallel Processors in Computational Science. The format of the meeting will follow the pattern set by its prede- cessors. It is intended to review hardware and architecture development together with languages and software tools for sup- porting parallel processing. Another objective of the conference will be to highlight advances in algorithms and applications software on vector and parallel architectures. The programme will include both numerical applications (eg Physics and Engineering) and non-numerical applications (eg image processing, simulation, movies). Timetable 31st March 1987 Closing date for abstracts of 15th May 1987 Notification of acceptance 30th June 1987 Deadline for registration 24th August 1987 Final copies of papers submitted Speakers who have accepted invitations include: B. Buston (Parallel Computer Vision) I. Ipsen (Parallel Numerical Algorithms) C. Jesshope (Reconfigurable Transputer Arrays) H. F. Jordan (Software Tools) D. May (Parallel Languages) D. Parkinson (Nonstandard Parallel Algorithms) D. Sorensen (Transporting Software) P. Treleaven (Parallel Architectures) D. Wallace (Parallel Monte Carlo Methods) D. Warren (Parallel Processing of Logic Programs) other speakers on applications in areas such as chemistry and movies have still to be confirmed. Computer manufacturers that have agreed to participate in the hardware display include: A.M.T. , Alliant, Contral Data (for ETA Systems) Cray (U.K.), Floating Point Systems, Intel, Meiko, Sequent There will also be displays of parallel and vector processing books by various publishers.
