I do support the idea of splitting the group(especially till people stop abusing it by sending volumes on Searle & ugh .........). However I think it may put more workload on Ken,and also may sometimes put him in a quandry as to which group a message might belong. Hope we can come up with a decent solution. As a theoretical issue, I agree with those who like to keep the digest flexible so that we can be stimulated by ideas outside our own subfields. In practice, though, the digest has gotten a bit large for a volunteer moderator to handle (in addition to professional and familial duties). I am worried that the Arpanet side of the list may collapse if I have give up this hobby. Perhaps the rate of mailer problems and other administrative matters will decrease as the network adjusts to all the new conventions and hosts that have been added lately. -- KIL]
