Please indi- cate to which of the four conferences the paper you like to present belongs to. Only original papers which have not been published elsewhere will be accepted. Authors will be expected to register early (at a reduced fee) and to attend the conference at their own expense to present accepted papers. If you cannot present your paper at the conference, it will not be published in the Proceedings. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent by March 10. An authors kit with complete instructions on how to generate camera-ready copy for the Proceedings will be sent to those authors of accepted abstracts. If you plan to give state of the art reviews or to organize panel discussions please contact the appropriate program chairman. Camera ready copies of accepted papers must be sent to the European Office by May 1, 1987. A final review of each paper will take place at that time. For demonstrations, exhibitions or video sessions please contact the European Simulation Office. Language The official conference language is English. Registration fees: The registration fee is DM 350,- for those pre-registered before July 1, 1987. Registration at the conference itself will be DM 400,-. Correspondence Address ====================== European Simulation Office c/o Philippe Geril University of Ghent Coupure Links 653 B-9000 Ghent, Belgium 91-236961 Ext. 400 or Earn/Bitnet: ADELSBER + AWIWUW11 The 1987 European Simulation Multiconference will bring together four individual conferences. We invite papers for presentation at the conference and for the publication in each conference's Proceedings. AI and Simulation ================= More and more it becomes evident that AI and simulation has the same aim: learning about reality by mimicry. This conference should serve both sides and bring them together. Papers on the following topics are especially invited: - Intelligent Simulation Environments - Qualitative reasoning - Knowledge bases - Knowledge engineering - Expert systems - Complex models - Applications using AI techniques Discrete Event Simulation ========================= This conference will provide a forum for presenting new approaches to developing, validating, and using discrete event simulation models. Papers on the following topics are especially invited: - Tools for discrete event simulation: o Computer languages o Environments o On-line and real time simulation o Graphical model description - Modeling - Validation - Optimization - Statistical methods - Random number generation and testing - Applications: o Computer systems o Communication systems o Transport and traffic systems o Environmental design o Education This list is not exhaustive. Simulation and Computer Integrated Manufacturing ================================================ The program will focus on the application of simulation in Com- puter Integrated Manufacturing, CIM. CIM covers a very broad spectrum of different systems, techniques, tools, methods and tasks in order to achieve computer integration at all levels through a business. Simulation techniques have an important role to play in the creation and operation of CIM. Papers on the following topics are especially invited: - Simulation in manufacturing, design and operation - Simulation in manufacturing education for industry - Simulation in research and development in computer integrated manufacturing and the CIM philosophy Simulation and Operational Research =================================== Simulation is, and has always been, an important tool in O.R., and really deserves to be the subject of a special conference. Papers on the following topics are especially invited: - Simulation packages and tools, on main frames and micros - Animation graphics in simulation - Applications in queuing theory - Educational applications: business games for teaching O.R. - Simulation and networked microprocessor architecture - Monte Carlo methods in mathematics - Micro simulation in economics - Statistical design and analysis of simulation This list is not exhaustive. ********************************************* * Contact: Earn/Bitnet: ADELSBER + AWIWUW11 * *********************************************
