Glenn Shafer (of the Dempster-Shafer fame) has been developing systems for both financial and management support, I am not sure about marketing. You can reach him at: Glenn Shafer 313 C Summerfield Hall School of Business University of Kansas Lawrence, KS 66045 (913) 864-3117

I'd like to make a collection of references to work being done in AI and finance, including trading, planning, market analysis, etc. I've found the companies who are developing such systems internally to be very secretive (not suprisingly), but I'd like to throw some light on this area. If anyone is doing work in these kinds of domains and would like to talk about it, please send them on to me and I'll redistribute the answers after digesting them. I see some especially interesting problems in dealing with time and pattern recognition that occur in these situations. --ted -------

Does anyone know of any financial expert systems that are commercially available for purchase and that run on either general purpose computers or AI workstations? I am aware of Planpower by Applied Expert Systems (APEX) and Financial Advisor by Palladian Software. Any assistance would be appreciated. Frances Borison.
