Subject: Voice synthesis for cancer patient
A neighbor has asked for information regarding voice
synthesis systems (preferably portable) that can take keyboard
input. He has recently had his voicebox removed and is
communicating through crayon and graphics tablet.
Through the
news media, he heard of a judge in Washington D.C. who suffered
the same type of cancer operation and who is performing his job
through the use of a computerized voice synthesis system. Anyone
who has knowledge of a practical off-the-shelf system is
requested to respond. Need is urgent.
