The CMU Warp project is interested in hiring several Research Programmers in these areas: -- compiler development -- applications programming -- Unix maintenance and development The Warp project is developing a programmable high-speed (100 MFLOP) systolic machine that has been optimized for use in computer vision. We are expecting delivery of the first full-scale machine in January, and have had two smaller prototype machines working for several months. We have already demonstrated the use of this machine in computer vision research and in controlling a robot vehicle. This project represents an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of computer technology. The successful applicant for any of these positions will become a member of a team, and will have the opportunity to participate in decision-making in his or her area of expertise. CMU's programming environment is among the best around. Numerous Vaxen, Suns, Perqs, MicroVaxen, Lisp Machines, and other workstations are available. The Computer Science Department maintains a open, friendly environment. A bachelor's degree is expected; a master's degree or corresponding experience is preferred. Applicants should send a resume to: Jon Webb Department of Computer Science Carnegie-Mellon University Pittsburg, PA 15217 (412) 578-3579 or 268-3579 ARPAnet:Jon.Webb@ius2.cs.cmu.edu
