Announcement: ENGINEERING INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND STANDARD INTERFACES. An Engineering Information System (EIS) Workshop will be held at the UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA, Tucson, Arizona on 6-10 JANUARY 1986. It has become apparent that an Integrated Design Automation System (IDAS) is a necessity for efficient design and maintenance of systems of VHSIC-class complexity. Design automation tools are evolving and some are commercially available. The problem of integrating tools from different vendors is a major, and in many cases, an impractical task. The VHSIC IDAS Program has as one of its major objectives the development of specifications and standards as needed to ease the integration task. This workshop will provide a working forum for establishing such standards. The workshop is sponsored jointly by the IEEE Design Automation Standards Subcommittee (DASS), the University of Arizona, academia, and the Dept. of Defense. Additional information on the technical objectives of this workshop can be obtained from any of the following individuals: Prof. Nicholas Roussopoulos, Univ. of Maryland, Nick@Maryland.ARPA Prof. Gio Wiederhold, Stanford Univ., Wiederhold@sumex-AIM.ARPA Lt. Anthony Gadient, USAF Avionics Laboratory, (513) 255-8641 If you are interested in participating please return the information below: ********************************************************************** >8 **** EIS WORKSHOP (6-10 JAN 1986) - REQUEST FOR INVITATION (Please print clearly) To receive invitation material, please complete the following information and return to: AFWAL/AAD VHSIC PO Bldg. 620, Area B, Rm S2A38 Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433-6543 Name_________________________________________________________________ (Dr./Mr./Ms., etc.) (First) (Middle Initial) (Last) Title________________________________________________________________ Affiliation__________________________________________________________ Affiliation Address__________________________________________________ Division/Branch/Department___________________________________________ P.
