List in May 1985 DC call-guide of Washington DC & suburban exchanges has some noise: 950, 954 Alexandria/Arlington, Va.--but 954 is also listed in DC (and is in DC on my 1982 tape), and wasn't 950 reserved for this "equal- access" thing? 693--Dept. of Defense, Va.--but I checked with the operator (and my 1982 tape) and it's Washington. It's one of those exchanges in the Pentagon, which IS physically in Va., but must use areacode 202.
