MicroCom has a 50-page public-domain spec of the lower-class levels of MNP. They charge a publication fee of $100. Does anyone on the east coast already have a copy of this spec they would let me copy? [$100 for 50 pages doesn't sound very public-domain to me -elmo] MicroCom also claims to do much better in minimizing the latency in sending out a packet. In particular, when they get the first character, they immediately start shipping the packet header out the comm line. This sounds much more promising than the 20ms delay Vadic described. I'll try to get a demo of a full-duplex connection of MicroCom modems in a couple of weeks. -------
