Does anyone know what Boz is up to these days? I've been a fan since "Lowdown",
and the last albums that I recall seeing from him are "Middle Man" and a
greatest hits. Thanks.

Boz has been very busy in the restaurant business....

He opened a place here in the city (can't remember the name though)
that I think specializes in southern cooking. Not much from him
in the way of new tunes, though he still does pop into some of
the clubs around here and jam with other artists.

An interview with Boz Scaggs was written in the Sept84 issue of
_San Francisco Focus_, the magazine put out by the local PBS station.

The article implies that he was "burned out" by his success. His
wife bloomed with the success, but he felt that he was a "symbol
for capitalistic stylishness, decadence".
It says he was involved with a bitter custody battle with his ex-wife.
The outcome is that he will have more time to spend with his two sons.
He stopped performing because he stopped enjoying it, so he decided to
quit. Can he make a comeback?

In the meantime, he has opened a restaurant, The Blue Light Cafe', in
San Francisco. [ I
just went there tonight... I really enjoyed it. Good, home-style food..
like great fried chicken, bbq ribs, etc... And some of the best back-
ground music ever heard in a restaurant!]

It says he is interested in making a new album .. some of his interests:
"he'd like to do a straightforward R&B album, but he's also interested
in a New York dance-funk record. He's always wanted to do a record of
standards.. but then again there's that country album he's always wanted
to make."
