I just bought an album called "See Roger Play", which was a live performance of Roger Waters' (of the Pink Floyd) 1984 concert tour. Unfortunately, Roger never traveled on the west coast, so I never had a chance to see him, but now I finally have a chance to hear him. I was wondering -- has anybody out there seen him in concert this year? I am really curious about how well he and his band performed, etc. I wasn't around to read the net news after his concert, so I never found out. I noticed that he played some real old Floyd numbers, like "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun", some off "The Final Cut", and some off "The Wall". I didn't really like his new solo album, but now that I know that he played other stuff, I feel I missed out on something good. Oh well. Victor Romano. ------------------------------------ ... and then one day: Hooray! Another way for gnomes to say "Oh, me!". -The Screaming Abdabs.

I saw Roger Waters on his "Pros and Cons" tour, and it was the best show I've seen since Pink Floyd "The Wall" in N.Y. some years back. The musicians were great, the sound system was unbeatable (many speakers hung around the room too), the "set" and the technical effects were incredible. I also saw David Gilmour this year and while that was excellent too, they were very different types of shows. Roger Waters (like the Floyd show) was a theatrical performance more than a concert. At the show I saw, they did miscellaneous old stuff the first set and went on to "The Pros and Cons" after the break. In typical Roger Waters style they didn't interrupt their playing to introduce themselves or talk to the audience - it wouldn't have been appropriate. I reccomend seeing him in concert to anyone who has even a remote interest, it will be an experience you won't forget. Liz Smith

Yes, I saw Waters here in Chicago sometime in July. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. I'm sure you now know that Eric Clapton was on tour with him. Clapton was fantastic. The show was divided into two parts. The first part was all Pink Floyd songs. The sound quality was by far the best I've ever heard at a concert. Even the lyrics were crystal clear. The second part was Water's new album "The Pros and Cons of Hitchiking" played in it's entirety along with a movie. The movie and the music told an interesting story. All in all, a great concert.
