I am trying to build S (the statistical package) on a Pyramid 98x. Currently, it is objecting because it tries to do a load, with newfun/lib/defer.z, which is not a Pyramid object file. Further, nothing seems to generate newfun/lib/defer.z, at least as far as I have been able to decipher the various shell scripts, make's, and other apparatus that they have put together to do a re-compile. Does anyone have a list of the tricks and changes necessary to make S run on a Pyramid? Has anyone been successful in getting it up? If I am having this much trouble just getting it to compile, I can hardly wait to see what problems I have with byte order, varargs, etc. I would greatly appreciate any pointers that anyone can give me. Thanks. eric ...!seismo!mimsy!aplcen!osiris!eric
