I've received two press releases from Adobe that I thought might be of some interest. The first was issued last month in conjunction with Comdex. Adobe is announcing release of additional fonts for use with the LaserWriter and the Macintosh. These fonts are licensed from Mergenthaler and ITC. Twelve typeface packages will be released in January. "The Adobe fonts...include typefaces from the ITC Avant Garde Gothic, ITC Garmond, Palatino and Optima typeface families among others.... The typefaces released by Adobe Systems will work on all POSTSCRIPT printers and typesetters." The second press release was by DEC and Adobe. It announces that DEC and Adobe have signed a contract "allowing Digital full use of Adobe's page description language---POSTSCRIPT." ... "Under the terms of the agreement with Adobe Systems, Digital can begin using the POSTSCRIPT page description language and interpreter immediately." --Rick
