[mod.computers.laser-printers] Halftone hardcopy on Imagen laser-printer

laser-lovers@ucbvax.UUCP (01/13/86)

Dear Moderator:

I attempted to send the following article previously but I believe
it got lost at one of the local machines (4.3bsd changeover and all
that...). If the previous article did get through please ignore
this.

-----------------------Article----------------------------------------
We have recently taken delivery of an Imagen 8/300 laser printer
and I am interested in using it to produce half-tone hardcopies
of 512 x 512 pixel (256 grey levels) type images.

Before I start writing such a program I would like to know if anyone
else has done this, has any advice or hints or even better CODE ("C"
preferably).

Please reply by mail, thanks.

Peter

Doug Jones here at the U of Iowa has defined a "greyfont" font for our TeX
system. We use it to run camera images off. Perhaps he can help you --
his CSNET address is "jones@uiowa".
