Hi folks, We have been using scribe and an Imagen Imprint10 (240dpi) printer for a few years. We just bought a new Imagen Imagestation (the same engine as the 8/300 - hence 300dpi). Now I got my original 240dpi fonts from Unilogic (the scribe people). They don't distribute fonts anymore - I understand why - it was a pain and it caused confusion in a lot of people - me included. So first I said to myself that I should be able to use the fonts I have now, only use the bigger ones. (Forgive me if I am giving to much information here, but even though I have been a user for a few years, my understanding of issues typographical is at best lay.) The fonts I have now have 2 interesting parameters - intended size and magnification. I have very few intended sizes, but lots of magnifications. I guess that is because it is easier to magnify than tune to a new size. So if I scribe some text in a 10point, magnification 1.6 and print it on the 240dpi printer and then the same text at mag. 2.0 and print it on the 300dpi printer I would expect the text to look the same (disregarding the crispness of the 300 dpi resolution vs. the 240). It doesn't. The size looks about right, but there are different number of words on a line. Might anyone guess why that might be? The bottom line of my posting though, is really to ask if anyone has fonts that scribe can use for an Imagen 300dpi printer, where they got them and what they had to do with them to make scribe understand how to use them. By the way, I bought the scribe "device driver" for the new printer - it made scribe know how to talk to the printer, but nothing about fonts (as expected). Or, if anyone has bought the printer resident fonts and done the necessary work to get scribe to understand them. I am willing to pay some money for this if necessary.
