For those of you who may be concerned with hooking up an Apple LaserWriter to an Apollo (Sun, VAXstation, or RT) for output from the glorious Interleaf WPS, please note that WPS is expected to support PostScript output devices in the 2nd quarter of 1986 (perhaps as early as March, which is now upon us.) For my department, the purchase of WPS has been put off for nearly a year now because we have been unable to justify the purchase of a $15,000 laser printer from Imagen, when we can buy three Apple's for that price. We are also "sold" on the future of PostScript, especially as compared to imPress. Educational institutions will also be happy to learn that Interleaf has announced a special pricing scheme/product called UPS, for University Publishing System. This is a cummulative volume discount purchase plan, and the UPS product is a combination of the "low-end" WPS and the very pricey ($20,000), high-end TPS or Technical Publishing System, but on a delayed availability basis. Here's to the support of PostScript from Interleaf! Chris Christopher E.
