We have had some problems with our Imagen 12/300 laser printers that we have not been able to get a satisfactory answer from Imagen about. The first problem is that the hot roller on the fusing units tend to heat up to the point of melting the plastic coating off the roller (at the center point only). Indications of the problem are black smudges down the centers of the printouts. We have two units and at present each one has melted the rollers twice in the last two months. The total number of copies on either unit are 80K pages or less, done in the last 9 months. The second problem is slippage of the OPC belt within the OPC cassette unit. This causes the false indication of paper jams. One solution to this problem is to clean the rubber roller and the OPC mark itself every 3 to 5 days, in our environment. In addition, the OPC belt seems to only last for about 8000 pages vs. the advertised 20,000 pages. (Imagen, are you out there?) Any suggestions or help would be apreciated.
