On p. 3 of the June 30, 1986 InfoWorld, the following blurb appeared at the top of the "Just Heard... section: "HP TO DECIDE ON PAGE DESCRIPTION LANGUAGE "Industry analysts believe Hewlett-Packard--which has been evaluating page description languages for its laser printers--may choose the DDL language from Imagen Corp. of Santa Clara, California. "Imagen said last week it had signed major contracts for its page description language DDL. Although the company declined to name any buyers, Imagen officials said they hope to be able to announce contracts soon with two ``major'' companies. "HP is close to announcing its decision, according to Bill McGlynn, an HP product marketing manager, but he declined to provide further details." Thought the list might be interested in this item. (Disclaimer: I own a non-trivial amount of Imagen stock, but am not an employee.) -------
