I have an Imagen 8/300 laser printer on my TCP Ethernet that I use for both Interleaf output (they sold it to me) and to support TeX/itroff. My problem is that the printer doesn't seem to print properly- text lines specified to be 6" wide always come out ~6.2 inches wide. This occurs independant of what drives the printer- Interleaf, TeX, itroff, bitmaps, etc. I asked Interleaf about this, and they said that it's because the 8/300 "isn't really a 300 DPI printer- it's something like 294DPI horizontally". This sounds somewhat bogus to me, as I've never heard it mentioned anywhere on the USE/ARPA networks. Rather it sounds like something needs to be adjusted on my printer. Has anybody else out there observed and/or corrected this problem? -- LIVE: Barry A.
