We have had 6 laserwriters upgraded. We have had no problems since the upgrades. In fact, we used to have spooling problems possibly related to the XON/XOFF bugs mentioned that have disappeared with the upgrade. In addition, the performance improvement and the ability to set the async line from 9600 to 19.2K baud is an additional win. All we need is a larger input tray and a postscript machine that can run 24 hours a day and print about 24ppm. Our 3 dovers, print a 100k pages each during our peak usage month (may). Oh yea, it was a headache to find that a heathkit retailer down the road got 5 upgrades when they opened and another large stock of them a month later BEFORE CMU got the LaserWriter upgrades. We bought all our LaserWriters as Pluses....we actually took one laserwriter out to the dealer and had them upgrade it and were considering doing the rest that way. -Rudy CMU Comp. I have heard from our maintance guys that those eproms are VERY sensitive and they find about 60% are DOI (dead on installation). They have learned to handle with EXTREME care. Wrist grounds, etc
