For your information: My note of 9/16 indicated that we were having trouble in several ways with DJDE processing on our 4050 and we were also having trouble with the printer trashing its accounting file. Xerox has developed a patch for one of the DJDE problems--the problems with running out of dynamic memory to do DJDE processsing after 20-100 reports. We applied the patch on 10/6, and we haven't had the problem since. The SPAR number for this was A0037 and the patch id is AA052A. Our thanks to Xerox. We are still having problems though with DJDE processing when the graphics mode is turned on--the first record of the DJDE packet is ignored. This has been SPARred (ID: A0016), but we still haven't gotten a fix. Any more information about this from anyone on the net would be appreciated. We have more info. about the accounting file problem. It was first thought to be a timing problem with the disk controller holding write high for too long. A new board with different chips and etch level was installed, but the problem happened again. We later found out that some of the "new" boards had the right new chips but the old etch level. We finally got a proper new board (chips and etch) installed as of a couple weeks ago, with no account file problems since then. This problem got SPARred as a software problem along the way (ID: A0040) and Xerox is still looking at it. John Hauck Iowa State University Computation Center GG.JPH@ISUMVS
