I've had good luck recycling Canon cartridge up to and including once. After that the transfer media begins to wear and the quality degrades. I've used cartridges that have been refilled with Brown toner. That works well a lot of the time, but its hard for the recyclers to remove all the Black toner first. You may get a strange blend from time to time. The Canon reps say that the Canon version of the cartridge (as opposed to the HP version) contains more toner and is good for about 1/3rd more prints. I have not verified this and it may just be Canon hype.. Bret
